GIZ Deputy Chief Representative Steiger: happy to provide support to Sino-German Metal Eco City

    From 12^th to 13^th of January, a delegation of German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), led by Deputy Chief Representative Dr. Steiger inspected Jieyang, met by Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dong. Both sides had further discussion and reached a consensus in the promotion of Sino-German cooperation and the construction of Sino-German Metal Eco City

    Chen Dong introduced the construction and development of Sino-German Metal Eco City, particularly pointed out that Jieyang would strive to build cooperation platform for small and medium enterprises between Germany and China with the support from related parties of Germany and China. Chen Dong expressed his hope that GIZ would play a positive role on the cooperation between Germany and Jieyang and would act as a bridge to promote German SMEs to enter China and China SMEs to enter Germany.

    Steiger highly appreciated the development thought of Jieyang on the promotion of Sino-German Metal Eco City. He said, Sino-German Metal Eco City on one hand conformed to the development trend of Jieyang, and on the other hand showed fashion sense of Jieyang. Steiger believed there was tremendous room for Sino-German cooperation and multiple aspects of training between Jieyang and GIZ, such as President Courses of Sino-German Cooperation, Youth Leader of Sino-German Industrial Cooperation. He said he would be very happy to cooperate with Jieyang, to provide advice and support for Sino-German Metal Eco City and hoped that on the basis of the consensus on practical cooperation, both sides would start long-term cooperation and contribute to Sino-German cooperation through the implementation of the project. Steiger expected to visit Jieyang next time as an cooperative partner..

    During the visit in Jieyang, the delegation also visited Sino-German Metal Eco City and had a discussion in Metal Enterprises Union of Jieyang.
