On March 31st, the MEUJ Representative Office in Munich is officially launched. The General Consul of China in Munich Zhu Wanjin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jieyang Municipal Committee, Mayor of Municipal Government Chen Dong,Head of Division for Asia-Pacific Foreign EconomicRelations of the German Bavarian Ministry of Economic AffairsArmin Schwimmbeckattended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

    Chen Dong said in his speech that, it is significant to launch the MEUJ representative office in Munich when President Xi makes a successful visit to Germany and opens a new chapter in Sino-German cooperation. And Chen hopes that the representative office could fully play its role as a go-between and further deepen the Sino-German cooperation. Moreover, Jieyang will construct the Sino-German Metal Eco City project at a high level in accordance with the spirit of win-win cooperation. 

    Zhu expressed his warm congratulations to Jieyang municipal government. And he also held that it was remarkable to inaugurate the representative office. Furthermore, he expected the MEUJ could take its advantages into full play and offer more services to German enterprises coming into Jieyang and Chinese enterprises into Europe. On behalf of the consulate general of Munich, Zhu said he and other officials would totally support the work of the representative office.

    Armin Schwimmbeck congratulates the establishment of the representative office on behalf of the Bavarian government. He says the relationship between Bavaria and Guangdong is very close. The state government will promote the German enterprises to take part in various kinds of fairs and to conduct cooperation with China, through organizing the economic trade delegation to visit China. The launch of the MEUJ representative office will deepen theintimate relationship between Bavarian and Guangdong Province. Armin Schwimmbeck also expects to work with the directors in the representative office, for pushing forward Sino-German economic trade exchanges and cooperation.

    More than 50 people from German political circles and business circles attended the opening ceremony. After that, the present delegates and special guests made an in-depth discussion on the construction and development of Sino-German Metal EcoCity.

    The MEUJ sets up a representative office in German for assisting with the Jieyang metal industry and establishing the sustainable cooperation relationship with Germany in the fields of politics, economy and science. Besides, the MEUJ is to introduce the German advanced technology, ideas, production modes, management model and talents for the development of Sino-German Metal EcoCity. And the MEUJ is to promote the transformation and upgrading of the Jieyang metal industry. At the same time, the representative office will build up the relationship with other European organizations and enterprises to deepen the China-EU cooperation according to the need of business development.
